Latest Quote From Forrest To Dal

“Winter is upon the Rockies from the Canadian border in the north to Santa Fe in the south, and the many lofty mountain tops that are jammed in-between. Most searchers have retired for the winter and are saving money for expeditions planned for spring when the mountain laurel will again bloom above 5,000. Others complain about the cold but continue searching favored locations. For those who are still active, please heed the rules that govern cold weather survival.

Some fireside researchers have ganged together on the blogs hoping to find flaws in my character that will miraculously lead them to the treasure. It is interesting also, that crazies continue to surface. I have emails from both police and doctors suggesting that I stay alert. Being Forrest Fenn is getting harder all the time, but it will continue to be fun as long as I have a tree to hide behind, maybe a tree with an f carved in its trunk.”  —  FF

Rarely would I reprint something that’s on another’s blog, but this is important and should be heeded. As for the following quote “Some fireside researchers have ganged together on the blogs hoping to find flaws in my character that will miraculously lead them to the treasure. It is interesting also, that crazies continue to surface….” I say Forrest Fenn has never shown me any reason to doubt his good intentions.  I do study Fenn, not for character flaws  but to watch for slips that give us hints to the way he thinks.  Let me be the first to say it is hard to be looked in the mouth after giving the treasure horse.  Unfortunately no good deed goes unpunished.  Those will get what they give.  Enough quotes.  Thanks for the warning Mr. Fenn and may you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

  1. I’m one of the ones still searching…….. “your effort will be worth the cold”. Perhaps winter is the only time it can be found……….I work in the mountains so I have to be there anyway.

I wasn’t aware of any bloggers ganging up on him…..Do you know who he’s talking about?……..Fenn may be getting a little thinned skinned. I don’t think he understood the scrutiny he would be under because of the web. He is used to talking one on one with rich people working his magic to relieve them of a chunk of their bank account without having to worry about his clients scrutinizing the stories he spun to each.

Everything he says or writes is recorded and chronicled; then dissected and studied for any microscopic tidbits of info or discrepancies by the treasure hunters……..He wanted to be famous.

Be careful what you wish for.

I do hope anyone searching this winter will heed the warning……..the mountains don’t care about good intentions……and Mother Nature is a cold, unforgiving, and fickle old witch in the winter.

    1. Thanks Goofy-Old-Guy for your posts and comments. Glad you think my blog has relevant info. We all need a hot cuppa clues to keep us warm this cold winter. — Cpt Pappy

      1. Just wanted to say I enjoyed reading “Goofy Old Guy” and Cpt Pappy. After seeing the mess in Atlanta with just 2 inches of snow, I would be worried about 2 FEET of snow, or more, in the treasure zone. Oh, where is that zone again? j/k LOL 😉

  2. Hi dall, are we all just scratching the surface of what could possibly be a much deeper variety of clues…
    National treasure type adventure?

  3. Agree with the guy working in the cold,
Maybe the only time the white blaze can be seen? (Fallen snow in blaze crevis??)
Anyone looking near muscle peak… ‘I am weak’ under ‘home of brown’ …grizzly bear sanctuary??

I’m weak… Bloody poem has been an ear worm on my head all day!
